Winter Blues and Daily Triumphs
Another snowy day in Vermont. The cold creeps in, and the routines march on—work, school, meetings, meals. It feels like life in perpetual motion, doesn’t it? At 44, as a single mom to a fifteen-year-old, my days often feel like an endless juggle of responsibilities: navigating schedules, whipping up meals, and managing life’s curveballs.
But somewhere between the packed lunches and the evening dinners, there’s pride. Every task, every checked-off to-do, it’s all for us—for our little unit, our dreams, and our future. Vermont winters may be relentless, but so am I.
Here’s to all the parents out there, braving their own storms, one day at a time. We’ve got this.
Perhaps I will start those tomato plants this weekend, clean the house. It is scheduled to SNOW up to 4 inches, we shall seeWe can do hard things

New Year, New Goals and Reflection
Sunday, January 17, 2021 8:30AM SHOULD———->COULD My last post I used the word SHOULD, I would like to replace that universally to COULD. Think about if you replace the word Should with Could. Reduces Blame and Shame. Who is in charge of whether or not I should do something, ME. My choices, my free will.…

It’s Spring (But Not Really)
The sun and calendar say spring, but here in Vermont, winter lingers. Real spring waits for Maple Fest, when the sap stops running, and sugar shacks quiet down. Until then, boots and shovels stay close—winter’s not done yet.Two pounds of ground burger cooked. (Look at us we meal prepped!)
April 8th: Winter Lingers
Snow fell last night—a nudge from Mother Nature that winter isn’t done yet. Spring still hesitates, and the snow may fade by day’s end, but winter reminds us it won’t bow out quietly.
Morning Devotionals: A Twist
I’m considering revising my morning routine and reinventing morning devotionals as a practice dedicated to self-care, growth, and gratitude—drawing inspiration from the structure of traditional devotionals while leaving spirituality aside. – Self-care: Begin the day intentionally nurturing my physical and emotional well-being. Yoga? Stretching? Water intake? – Growth: Reflect on my goals and set one…
Morning Musings of a Single Mom
6:30 a.m. The alarm has sounded its call three times, and I’ve dutifully snoozed each one. Today, my kiddo gets the luxury of sleeping in—no school. Meanwhile, the clock ticks toward 7:35 a.m., when I need to leave for work. The to-do list beckons, each task awaiting its turn. Coffee. Vitamins. Shower. Dress. Feed the…
Winds of Change
Today, I feel the winds of change in the air—a gentle nudge from nature reminding me that nothing stays the same forever. It’s the spring equinox, a turning point where day and night find balance. For a single mother in Vermont, the balance often feels elusive. But today, as I step outside, I see the…
