Winter Blues and Daily Triumphs
Another snowy day in Vermont. The cold creeps in, and the routines march on—work, school, meetings, meals. It feels like life in perpetual motion, doesn’t it? At 44, as a single mom to a fifteen-year-old, my days often feel like an endless juggle of responsibilities: navigating schedules, whipping up meals, and managing life’s curveballs.
But somewhere between the packed lunches and the evening dinners, there’s pride. Every task, every checked-off to-do, it’s all for us—for our little unit, our dreams, and our future. Vermont winters may be relentless, but so am I.
Here’s to all the parents out there, braving their own storms, one day at a time. We’ve got this.
Perhaps I will start those tomato plants this weekend, clean the house. It is scheduled to SNOW up to 4 inches, we shall seeWe can do hard things
New Year, New Goals and Reflection

The Art of Adaptation: A Day in the Life of a Working Single Mom
Ah, the unpredictable joys of single motherhood paired with a full-time job! Yesterday was one of *those* days—chaotic, messy, and oddly rewarding, all rolled into one.
The day started with an unwelcome surprise: the toilet decided to overflow just as I was racing to get my kiddo to school and myself to work on time. Armed with a towel and sheer determination, I did a quick cleanup and left with the mantra of single parents everywhere: *“I’ll deal with it later.”*
Fast forward to the evening, after a full day at work and picking up my little one. With neither the energy nor the time for a home-cooked meal, we hit the drive-thru at McDonald’s( use your app for discounts)—a lifesaver for nights like these. Food in hand, we returned home, where my evening was spent elbow-deep in cleaning up the bathroom fiasco. Glamorous? Hardly. Necessary? Absolutely.
And that’s the essence of single parenting while working full-time—pivoting and adapting to the unexpected. It’s about finding the humor in the chaos and the pride in tackling challenges head-on. Yesterday’s toilet troubles are today’s reminder of resilience.
**Why Single Parents Are Everyday Superheroes**
Single parents are masters of time management, creative problem-solving, and finding joy in small victories. Whether it’s navigating morning crises or turning dinner runs into mini-adventures, every day is a testament to strength and resourcefulness.
**Tips for Thriving Amid the Chaos**
Here are a few lessons I’ve picked up along the way:
– **Embrace Imperfection:** Not every day will be Instagram-worthy, and that’s okay.
– **Prioritize Self-Care:** Even 10 minutes of quiet time can work wonders.
– **Lean on Your Village:** Whether it’s friends, family, or fellow parents, don’t hesitate to ask for help.
Single parenting may not always be glamorous, but it’s a journey filled with moments that showcase courage, creativity, and unconditional love. Here’s to all the working single parents out there, making it happen one day at a time! 🌟Anxienty-Help your kiddos by Reading
