Single Mom Asks for help: Restoring faith in humanity
There are days when life throws everything at you all at once, like a messy pile of to-do lists crashing down. That was me recently—staring at my driveway soaked in spilled oily gas ⛽, my fallen tree 🌳 mocking me from the corner of the yard, the flood-dampened basement 💦 waiting for attention,
and the stubborn winter debris covering my lawn like a reminder of all the tasks I had ignored 🍂.
I wanted to throw my hands up 🙌 and just walk away. The weight of responsibilities—some old, some new—felt crushing. But instead of sinking into that lonely frustration, I did something simple but powerful: I reached out.
I remembered I had friends—wonderful, kind people who might know someone willing to lend a hand 🤲. I shared my situation, laid it all out, & asked if they could help or if they knew someone who could. And suddenly, the burden didn’t feel so overwhelming anymore. 💞

The Lesson? Ask for Help.
There’s this unspoken pressure, especially as single moms 🏡, to do it all ourselves. To prove we’re strong moms, capable, and unshaken by chaos. But the truth is, strength isn’t found in doing everything alone—it’s found in knowing when to ask for support.
We weren’t meant to tackle life in isolation. Community support isn’t just a nice concept—it’s survival, it’s joy, it’s a lifeline when our arms are too full, and we need to set some weight down. ❤️
If you’re struggling, if your to-do list is too long 📜, if you feel like giving up—pause. Breathe. Reach out. Someone, somewhere, wants to help. And accepting that help doesn’t make you weak; it makes you wise and resilient. 🦉

update: The neighbor came and surprised me with cleaning up all the years or winter debri on my driveway and trimmed back all the invasive stuff! There are no words to describe how helpful this was. It encourages me to keep going!
