Lawn Mowing as a Single Mom: Finding Confidence in the Grass 🌱

I bought my house as a single mom, the idea of mowing the lawn was overwhelming. It wasn’t just about figuring out how to operate a mower—I felt self-conscious & worried about doing it “right” or being judged by others. Would someone notice if I missed a spot? 🙈

I turned to Facebook for advice, & to my surprise, someone from a church I USED to attend offered me a self-propelled walk-behind mower for FREE🌱. They were moving & didn’t need it anymore. That mower has been with me for nine years now!

🛠️ a reminder of kindness of strangers & the tools we gather to tackle life’s challenges.

My thoughts for lawn care:

follow the pack for the first mow of the season.🏡 When you see or hear evidence of your neighbors firing up their mowers, that’s your cue that the mowing season has begun. From there, aim to mow weekly to keep the yard looking fresh. ✂️
